modem cards
A modem card is a very useful piece of computer hardware which many use for dial-up connections to the Internet. Dial-up connections use a router that uses public telephone line systems to connect to the Internet provider. Modem cards transfer information into a signal that can be sent through phone lines. It uses binary to essentially "shrink" the data which lets it move through phone lines. In a nutshell, many computers require modem cards, and dial-up connections, to connect to the Internet.
